About this Ailment:
COPD is an acronym for "Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder". It is not a single disease, but a general term for a group of serious lung diseases. Those include: chronic bronchitis, emphysema and various types of asthma.
COPD is a preventable and treatable disease (usually caused from smoking) that makes it difficult to empty air out of the lungs. This difficulty in emptying air out of the lungs is called airflow obstruction and can lead to shortness of breath or feeling tired because you are working harder to breathe.
A diagnosis of COPD is not the end of the world. Most people have mild forms of the disease for which little therapy is needed other than to stop smoking. Even for more advanced stages of disease, effective therapy is available that can control symptoms, reduce your risk of complications and exacerbations, and improve your ability to lead an active life.
There are several natural and herbal remedies that have been noted to improve breathing function in those who suffer from COPD.
