Bellis perennis has astringent properties. In ancient Rome, the surgeons who accompanied Roman legions into battle would order their slaves to pick sacks full of daisies in order to extract their juice. Bandages were soaked in this juice and would then be used to bind sword and spear cuts.<br />
Daisy tea energizes your body.  Daises have a diuretic effect on the body as well. This is brought on by the Saponins in the daisies. The effect also stimulates your metabolism and aids the liver and gallbladder.<br />
The daisy tea can also help to relieve gout and rheumatism symptoms. If you think that your weight gain is from a low metabolism, then try the tea mixture. The tea is not used in ordinary medicines.<br />

(Bellis perennis)


A herbaceous plant, Daisies have small rounded or spoon-shaped evergreen leaves 2–5 cm long, which grow close to ground. The flower heads are 2–3 cm in diameter, with white ray florets (often tipped red) and yellow disc florets. Although many people think that, the flower had a yellow center with white petals this is not the case. Each individual "petal" is itself an individual flower. In the center, there are many tiny yellow flowers also, the different colors and styles of flower work together in order to attract insects. This type of flower is known as a composite flower. They are produced on leafless stems 2–10 cm (rarely 15 cm) tall.

Applications:

Tea:
Make a cup of tea by boiling a cup of water over 1 tsp. of dried herb, for 10 minutes, and drink the tea 2 to 3 times a day. You can also mix the tea with dandelion or chicory.

With any herb, there is the risk of an allergic reaction. Small children and pregnant women should use additional caution when considering the use of herbal remedies.
